The effects of the fungus, Metarhizium anisopliae, and different tannin concentrations on Agelastica alni (L., 1758) (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) larvae
Abstract : Agelastica alni (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) is an important pest that feeds on the leaves of many plants, especially alder. Mortality counts were made for 11 days. The highest mortality in larvae treated with the fungus was 67.3% in larvae fed on a 2.5 TA diet with a 200 μl dose. Mortality increased as tannin concentration and fungi dose increased. The lowest LT50 value at all doses was in larvae fed on the 2.5TA diet. The highest LT50 value at 100 μl dose was determined in a 1.25% TA diet. Again, at the 100 μl dose application, the highest LT90 value was observed in the 1.25% TA diet, while the lowest LT90 value was observed in the larvae fed with a diet that did not contain tannin. The lowest LT50 value in 200 μl dose application is the same as in 100 μl. As a result of our study, it was determined that the M. anisopliae strain was 67.3% effective in terms of mortality against A. alni larvae and could be used for control purposes on the larvae.
