Zooplankton (Metazoa) as an indicator of water quality in the Mingachevir Reservoir (Azerbaijan)
Abstract : The article provides information on the species composition and quantitative indicators of metazooplankton in the Mingachevir reservoir. In 2021-2023 years were recorded 36 species belonging to 3 taxonomic groups of metazooplankton in the Mingachevir reservoir. Rotifrers are in the first place with 36.1% (13 species). Cladocerans made up 33.3% of the total number of species (12 species), Copepods 30.6% (11 species). The total amount of zooplankton in the Mingachevir reservoir changed between 4136-46410 ind./m3, biomass 986.46-10013.98 mg/m3. Using the bioindicator properties of zooplankton species, the water quality of the zones of the Khanabad Bay of the reservoir was determined by saprobity using the Pantle & Buck (1955) method modified by Sladechek (1973).
