Vermibiotechnology: A tool for environmental balance, human health and crop productivity enhancement through the use of a combination of liquid biofertilizer and biopesticides
Abstract : The sustainable management of crop pests and the enhancement of crop productivity is crucial for global food security. The use of chemical pesticides has raised concerns due to their detrimental effects on human health and the environment. As a result, there is an increasing interest in developing alternative pest management strategies that are eco-friendly and economically viable. This research article investigates the combined effect of vermiwash, a nutrient-rich liquid derived from vermicomposting, with biopesticides on crop productivity. Numerous easily processed plants, such as neem, garlic, and tobacco, can be used to suppress Helicoverpa armigera, Earias vittella, and other pests. The study explores the potential synergistic benefits of integrating these two approaches and provides insights into their efficacy for sustainable agricultural practices.
