Turkish members of tribe Tetropini Portevin (Cerambycidae: Lamiinae) with new distribution records and new host plants
Abstract : The paper presents detailed distribution data in Turkey of the members of Tetropini tribe with their host plants. As a result, only 6 species-group taxa (4 species + 2 nominal subspecies) of two genera were determined and evaluated with their distributions in Turkey and their all host plants for Turkish Tetropini. In terms of range of provincial and modern regional distribution in Turkey, T. praeustus angorensis with 15 provinces and 4 regions and T. praeustus anatolicus with 8 provinces and 2 regions are strikingly prevailing. Then, P. warnckei with 3 provinces and 2 regions and T. gilvipes gilvipes with 2 provinces and 1 region follow them. Similarly, in terms of number of recorded classical regions in Turkey, T. praeustus angorensis with 7 concepts and T. praeustus anatolicus with 5 concepts are strikingly prevailing. Then, P. warnckei and T. praeustus praeustus each with 2 concepts follow them. Moreover, according to the present study, the distribution range of 4 species-group taxa is expanded by determining new records for them. T. praeustus angorensis is recorded for the first time from Amasya, Bolu, Gümüşhane, İzmir, Kastamonu, Malatya, Sivas provinces, and therefore to Aegean and Eastern Anatolian regions of Turkey. Also, P. warnckei for Çankırı province, T. gilvipes gilvipes for Gümüşhane province, and T. praeustus anatolicus for Aksaray province are new records. With the present study, host plants of all taxa are determined. All of them are polyphagous in deciduous trees. In addition, host plants as Anacardiaceae (Pistacia lentiscus) and Rosaceae (Crataegus monogyna) of P. warnckei are detected for the first time with the present study. Also, the host range of T. praeustus anatolicus is expanded by determining a new host plant as Salicaceae (Salix sp.) for it. In terms of the number of host plant families and species, T. praeustus praeustus with 39 plant species of 13 different plant families is strikingly prevailing. Then, T. starkii starkii with 4 plant species of 3 different plant families and T. praeustus anatolicus with 4 plant species of 2 different plant families follow it. On the other hand, two species-group taxa are endemics among the 6 species-group taxa of Turkish Tetropini. Thus, the endemism ratio of Turkish Tetropini species-group taxa is 33.33 percent.
