The rapid spread of recently introduced invasive alien Anoplophora species in Turkey is alarming – A case study: Anoplophora chinensis (Forster) recorded firstly from South-Eastern Anatolia (Cerambycidae: Lamiinae: Monochamini)

Abstract :

The species of Anoplophora Hope are extremely dangerous quarantine pests and invasive alien species. The increase in importing of the plants and wood materials in the recent years has been causing the prensence of these species in Turkey. Since 2014, the presence of three species belonging to the genus Anoplophora Hope have been detected in Turkey. In the present paper, the discoveries of all species, their current state of distribution, etc. features in Turkey are given historically. Anoplophora chinensis (Forster) is recorded for the first time from Diyarbakır province and hereby South-Eastern Anatolia. The new location shows that the invasive alien species is expanding its distribution area in Turkey. An identification key to the Turkish species of Anoplophora Hope is also provided.
