Taxonomic status of Phytoecia bethseba Reiche & Saulcy, 1858 and Phytoecia sublineata Holzschuh, 1971 (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae: Cerambycinae) with new records from Turkey

Abstract :

Taxonomic status of Phytoecia caerulea bethseba Reiche & Saulcy, 1858 and Phytoecia asiatica sublineata Holzschuh, 1971are discussed on the base of the distribution patterns in Turkey. As a result, Phytoecia caerulea bethseba Reiche & Saulcy, 1858 and Phytoecia asiatica sublineata Holzschuh, 1971are upgraded to species level as Phytoecia bethseba Reiche & Saulcy, 1858 stat. nov. and Phytoecia sublineata Holzschuh, 1971 stat. nov. respectively. In addition, Phytoecia caerulea (Scopoli) is recorded for the first time from Antalya, Amasya, Erzincan, Hatay, Malatya, İstanbul and Tekirdağ provinces, while Phytoecia asiatica Pic, 1891 is recorded for the first time from Ardahan and Kars provinces. Also, Phytoecia sublineata Holzschuh, 1971 stat. nov. is recorded for the first time from Gaziantep and Tunceli provinces, and hereby from South-Eastern Anatolian region of Turkey.
