Remarks on the genera Dasylepida Moser, 1913 and Asactopholis Brenske, 1894 (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae: Melolonthinae: Leucopholini)
Abstract : Species composition and nomenclature of the leucopholine genus Dasylepida are discussed. The names D. chinensis Brenske and D. longiuscula Brenske are considered unpuiblished and unavailable. A new species, D. ernstbrenskei sp. nov., is described from the material attributed to “D. chinensis”. Dasylepida brenskei (Moser, 1908) is synonymized with D. obscurata (Fairmaire, 1878). The nominal species Phytalus latericostata Fairmaire, 1888, Leucopholis lepida Kirsch, 1875, Lepidiota oberndorferi Brenske, 1892 and L. pumila Sharp, 1876 are included in a new subgenus (Lepipusia subgen. nov.) of Dasylepida. An annotated checklist and a revised key of the species of Dasylepida are presented. Asactopholis dalatensis is downranged to subspecies of A. bicuspis, while A. bicolor nigrimargo is raised to the species level.
