On morphology and taxonomy of Microcyclops pachyspina (Lindberg, 1937) (Crustacea: Copepoda: Cyclopidae), and the genus Microcyclops Claus, 1893 in Central Asia

Abstract : Data on taxonomy, morphology, variability and distribution of Microcyclops pachyspina are given. M. pachyspina clearly differs from European Microcyclops varicans by having shorter and thicker apical spines on Enp2 of P4, by the ornamentation of the anal somite, by the shape of P5, by the number of setae on the third segment of the antenna and by the presence of spinules near the insertions of the outermost apical furcal setae. Key for determination of the genus Microcyclops in Central Asia is presented.
