Morphometric variation in the wing of four populations of Trichogramma brassicae Bezdenko (Hymenoptera: Trichogrammatidae) in Iran
Abstract :Geometric Morphometric Methods (GMM) were applied to explore variability in wing size and wing shape in four different populations of Trichogramma brassicae Bezdenko (Hymenoptera: Trichogrammatidae). Samples for this paper were collected from Alborz, Golestan, Lorestan and West Azerbaijan provinces (Iran). The results of analyses showed differences in both wing shape and wing size variables. In comparison to the other analyzed populations, a reduction in forewing size and forewing shape was found in the West Azerbaijan population. GMM was found to be a simple and reliable method to evaluate those morphological and morphometric differences in T. brassicae populations which can help perform biological control programmers.
