Mites associated with the date palm in Jahrom (Fars province), Southern Iran
Abstract :This study deals with mites associated with the date palm (Phoenix dactylifera L.) in Jahrom, Fars province, southern Iran. Mites inhabiting date palms )leaves, leaflets, fruits and soil( studied during April to September 2018. The present study has revealed records of 16 species belonging to 12 genera and 10 families. four species are new records for the date palm fauna in the world.These mites were classified according to their feeding habits into three categories: four species plant feeders, two species predacious and the remaining species belonging to families with fungivorous and saprophagous feeding habits.
