Meretricula nom. nov., a replacement name for the rose chafers genus Anomalocera Westwood, 1842 (Coleoptera: Cetoniidae)

Abstract :

A junior homonym was detected amongst the rose chafers genera and the following replacement name is proposed: Meretricula nom. nov. for Anomalocera Westwood, 1842. Accordingly, new combinations are herein proposed for the species group currently included in this genus: Meretricula glaberrima (Westwood, 1842) comb. nov.; Meretricula olivacea olivacea (Janson, 1883) comb. nov.; Meretricula olivacea subopaca (Arrow, 1907) comb. nov.; Meretricula olivacea insularis (Moser, 1910) comb. nov.; Meretricula olivacea vuilleti (Bourgoin, 1913) comb. nov.; Meretricula paotao (Masumoto & Sakai, 1987) comb. nov.; Meretricula parryi (Westwood, 1842) comb. nov.; Meretricula sakaii (Antoine, 2000) comb. nov.; Meretricula spinarcuata (Paulian, 1960) comb. nov.; Meretricula vitalisi (Bourgoin, 1913) comb. nov.
