Influence of abiotic factors of Caspian Sea water and Kura River water to the welfare of Acipenser persicus (Borodin, 1897) (Actinopterygii: Acipenseriformes) (primary results of comparative study)
Abstract : The main objective of the present research is to study the changes in the welfare and physiology offish grown in aquaculture conditions due to the influence of the environment (and especially water content and quality). İn this order, two different water sources were assigned: the water of the Caspian Sea and the water of the Kura River. The Kura sturgeon (also known as caspian sturgeon) fingerling fishes was cultured in two outdoor artificial reserviors with cirkulating the Caspian Sea and the Kura River water and every examined by month morfology, heematology, histology and serology methods. Based on the examination results of this study, it should be confirmed or denied that salt water is a more suitable environment for development of the sturgeons. All physiology parametrs were measured before start of the experiment and monthly and primary results of comparative study shown that Caspian sea water is more suitible for sturgeon fish production.
