Abstract : The present study explored the diversity and relative abundance of bees in the sacred grove of Thumboor, Thrissur district, Kerala, India during May 2022 to April 2023. A total of 11 morphospecies of bees were collected from study area which belongs to three families; Apidae, Halictidae and Megachilidae. There is seasonal variation in the abundance of bees which increases in the months of October, November, December and January and considerably declines in the months of June, July and August. Diversity indices such as evenness, Shannon, and Simpson and also floral association of bees in the habitat were studied. The study deserves significance as a pioneering work conducted in the study area.
