Comments on the validity of Stenocorus guveni Özdikmen et al. and Stenocorus latus (Pic) as separate species (Cerambycidae: Lepturinae)
Abstract :The paper presents comments on the validity of Stenocorus guveni Özdikmen et al., 2014 and Stenocorus latus (Pic, 1892) as separate species. The species, Stenocorus latus (Pic, 1892) was recently accepted by Danilevsky (2020) as a separate species in the subgenus Anisorus Mulsant, 1862, and also he accepted the species, Stenocorus guveni Özdikmen et al., 2014, as a synonym of Stenocorus latus (Pic, 1892) based on the original descriptions. Accordingly, the present study compared the original descriptions of these species and concluded that they should be valid as separate species. Since according to their original descriptions, both species differ enough from each other.
