An annotated checklist of Avifauna from Ramdhari village, Bhavnagar, Gujarat, India
Abstract : : The present study was conducted to investigate avifaunal diversity of Ramdhari village, Bhavnagar, Gujarat. This study was carried out from February 2021 to January 2023. Data collection was done using visual encounter method. In avifaunal diversity, a total of 129 species of birds belonging to 52 families and 20 orders were recorded from Ramdhari village. In present study out of 20 orders, Passeriformes order had 49 species belonging to 20 families which are adapted to terrestrial habitats. It was followed by order Charadriiformes, 17 species belonging to 7 families, adapted to wetland habitats. As per IUCN status, 123 species are least concern, six species are near threatened and one is vulnerable. The results provide baseline information on the avifaunal diversity of Ramdhari village, which will help in further conservation implications.
