A survey of short-horned grasshoppers (Orthoptera: Acrididae) in Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU)Campus, Bangladesh
Abstract :Survey on acridids diversity was conducted between September 2020 and April 2021 at Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) campus. A total of seven species, such as Acrida exaltata (Walker, 1859), Phlaeoba infumata Brunner Von Wattenwyl, 1893, Phlaeoba tenebrosa (Walker, 1871), Aulacobothrus luteipes (Walker, 1871), Trilophidia annulata (Thunberg, 1815), Oxya fuscovittata (Marschall, 1836), and Oxya hyla Serville, 1831 belonging to five genera, such as Acrida, Phlaeoba, Aulacobothrus, Trilophidia, and Oxya, and four subfamilies (Acridinae, Gomphocerinae, Oedipodinae and Oxyinae) of acridids was recorded from the campus premises of NSTU. Key to the identified species, their global distribution and economic status are provided in present study.
