A report on the aquatic Coleoptera of Ardal, Iran
Abstract : This study aimed to study the aquatic coleopteran fauna of Ardal, a city and capital of Ardal County, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province, Iran. Sampling was conducted at 17 stations and aquatic Coleoptera were identified at the species level. Sample identification was based on morphological features such as taxonomic features and external genitalia. The results showed that the collected samples belonged to 16 species, 12 genera and 5 families, which are: Dytiscidae, Hydrophilidae, Dryopidae, Helophoridae and Gyrinidae. The Dytiscidae family has the most species diversity and Helophoridae family has the least diversity. Two species named Agabus bipustulatus and Laccobius bipunctatus were the most abundant specimens collected.
