A new species of the genus Sycophila Walker (Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea: Eurytomidae), reared from head of Gundelia tournefortii L. (Asterales: Asteraceae) in Kahramanmaraş,Turkey, with notes on the species of the genus in Turkey

Abstract :

A new species of Sycophila Walker, 1871 (Hymenoptera, Eurytomidae) is reported, described from Kahramanmaraş, Turkey, and Gundelia tournefortii L. is recorded as a new host record of the genus Sycophila. Meanwhile, four species of genus were recorded from Turkey, Sycophila bigutta (Swederus), S. variegata Wal!ker, S. flavicollis (Walker) reared from Cynipid galls on oak, and S. mayri (Erdös) reared from  Centauria sp. A key to species of Sycophila from Turkey and illustrations of external features of the new species are provided.
