A new species of the genus Phaenocarpa Foerster (Hymenoptera: Braconidae: Alysiinae) from India
Abstract :A new species of the genus Phaenocarpa Foerster, 1862 viz., Phaenocarpa setosus sp. nov. is described from India, distinguished from Phaenocarpa kashmiriensis Bhat, 1979 in having body length 6.2 mm, face dull, slightly convex and densely punctate with median longitudional carina, mandible stout with upper teeth blunt, lower and middle teeth pointed with deep incisions, fore wing vein r[= r1] issues from 1/3rd of stigma/pterostigma, ovipositor sheath 1.43x as long as metasoma.
