A contribution to the knowledge of dung beetles fauna of Sivas (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae)
Abstract : This study was carried out on Scarabaeidae species collected from Sivas and its surroundings in 2008. Three species belonging to 3 genera from the Aphodiinae subfamily and 22 species belonging to 7 genera from the Scarabaeinae subfamily were determined. Of these species; Caccobius histeroides (Menetries, 1832), C. mundus (Menetries, 1838), Euoniticellus fulvus (Goeze, 1777), Euonthophagus atramentarius (Ménétriés, 1838), Gymnopleurus geoffroyi (Fuessly, 1775), Onitis damoetas Steven. 1806, Onthophagus (Palaeonthophagus) aleppensis Redtenbacher, 1843, O. (Palaeonthophagus) medius (Kugelann, 1792), O. (Palaeonthophagus) muelleri P. Novak, 1921, O. (Palaeonthophagus) ovatus (Linnaeus, 1767), O. illyricus (Scopoli, 1763), and Paroniticellus festivus (Steven, 1809) have for the workspace first record feature. However, new distribution points are given for all identified species. Current distributions of species in Turkey and Palearctic region were given.
