A contribution to the dipteran parasitoids and predators in Iranian cotton fields and surrounding grasslands

Abstract :

Dipteran predators and parasitoids have efficient role in biological control in cotton fields. The fauna of these beneficial insects in Iranian cotton fields and surrounding grasslands is studied in this paper. In a total of 30 Diptera of three families including, Asilidae (8 species), Syrphidae (6 species) and Tachinidae (16 species) were collected. Of these, 8 tachinid species are new records for Iran.
